Boonville & Adirondack Area Attractions

This 200-year-old rural community is nestled in the divide between the Mohawk and Black Rivers on the southeastern portion of the Tug Hill Plateau and in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.

Boonville has hosted the Oneida County Fair for over 100 years. It is a natural center for the sportsman, historian, nature-lover or photographer.  Fishing, hunting, swimming, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, golf, tennis, or just quiet relaxation - all are here at hand or within a short drive.

Along with all of the Summer activities, Winter sports play a big role in Boonville's way of life.

With an average annual snowfall of 200+ inches of snow, skiing and snowmobiling are major winter activities.

The area has hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails maintained by area snowmobile clubs.

Boonville's trail system connects with neighboring communities making it possible to travel from the western edge of Tug Hill to the Forestport-Old Forge area in the Adirondacks.

NYS Woodsmen's Field Days

Contestants come from as far away as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to compete in the lumberjack festivities, which are held the third weekend in August.

Competition in all aspects of logging plus Canoe & Kayak Race, 10K Foot Race, Truck Rodeo and a huge Parade highlight the events.
